Available for sale: professionally built Fiat 850 race engine, developed for historic racing and serious performance applications. This engine features extensive internal modifications and premium motorsport components designed for maximum reliability, high RPM capability, and competitive historic racing performance.

Built on a 903cc Fiat block, this engine has been extensively reworked and upgraded with race-grade components throughout.

Block & Bottom End

Original 903cc Fiat block

67.5mm bore with custom forged Abarth A112-style pistons

Pistons feature ceramic thermal coating on crowns and dry-film friction-reducing coating on skirts

Cylinder bores offset to A112 centerline spacing

Cylinders #1 and #4 moved outward

Cylinders #2 and #3 moved inward

Crankshaft turned 0.010 under

Main caps secured with ARP studs and nuts

Front crank oil passage threaded and plugged

Oil System – Full Race Configuration

Modified original Fiat 850 oil pressure relief location

Fitted with -6 AN fitting for remote oil filter and Accusump system

Center oil gallery modified and tapped for -6 AN return line

Pressurized oil supply feeding center main journal and full engine oil circuit

Original oil pressure sender location converted to -4 AN braided line feed for mechanical gauge

A112-type oil pump with integrated pressure relief valve

High-capacity 2-piece Abarth-style oil pan reproduction

Additional windage plate for improved oil control at high RPM

Rotating Assembly

Forged connecting rods with ARP rod bolts

Bottom of cylinder bores clearanced for rod movement

Lightweight billet steel flywheel (~5 lbs) for improved throttle response

Scuderia Topolino long-duration high-lift camshaft

New hardened DLC-coated tappets

Featherweight alloy pushrods

Chromed rocker shaft with grooved oil galleries

New hardened rocker arms with bronze bushings
